Royal Academy of Engineering are planning a collaborative project to invite schools from across the NE as part of the RAEng Connecting STEM Teachers programme. They are hoping to recruit 15 to 20 schools with about 100+ students involved.
The focus for students will be:
The culmination of the project will be a celebration day (10am – 3pm) on Wednesday 26th June at the SASMI Centre, Nissan. This has been chosen to coincide with International Women in Engineering Day (INWED)as we would hope to encourage a high level of participation from female students.
To add an element of careers education we would like to recruit a number of STEM Ambassadors to attend on June 26th to act as consultants to the school teams. We would like them to take the opportunity to talk about their own education/training/career experience relating this to the generic problem solving skills the students are developing through the project.
Being INWED They would particularly encourage female STEM Ambassadors to be involved.
Ambasssadors, please sign into your STEM account register here if you are interested.
