Royal Institution Science in Schools grant scheme - 2021

Engage students, teachers and your local community with a fully funded visit from one of our professional presenters, or enhance your teaching of science, technology, engineering and maths with our STEM grants for schools.

The Ri Science in Schools grant scheme launches on Monday 4th January 2021.

Free visits from our professional presenters worth £800 are awarded annually. The Royal Institution's Science in Schools days are designed to support children’s science education, meet CPD requirements for teachers, engage families, and raise funds for your school. Funded visits would need to take before 30th September 2021.

Am I eligible to apply?

In order to apply for a fully funded school visit, you need to:

  • Be from a state-funded primary or secondary school/academy in the UK (shows can be adapted for ages 4-7, 7-11, or 11-14)
  • Be a member of the school staff who is involved in teaching a STEM subject in the school
  • Be able to demonstrate that your students would not otherwise have access to this opportunity
  • Please note that the assessment process gives priority to disadvantaged schools
