Aimed at both primary and secondary (5-18 years) science and maths teachers in the UK, this event will introduce the theme of using ‘big data in the classroom’. Teachers will be guided through what big data is, why data manipulation is a vital skill for students to start engaging with now, and receive some practical training on the sourcing of data sets and visualisation examples.
The event aims to develop confidence in teaching data science techniques, help develop professional networks and provide links to free resources that can be used to stretch and challenge students.
The event is technically free but we ask for a £20 deposit which is refundable if the delegates attend.
For schools who have already signed up to the Royal Society's network (https://royalsociety.org/grants-schemes-awards/schools-network/) travel is reimbursed.
